The Artist House Residency

Theme: Photography · Cycladic Architecture
The Artist House invites photographers and visual artists for a short residency (2–7 days) between October and December 2025 on the island of Tinos, Greece.
The focus is on Cycladic architecture — the structure and atmosphere of The Artist House itself and the traditional Cycladic villages of Triantaros and Berdemiaros.
This is a small, self-organised residency, rooted in the local rhythm of the island. Participants are invited to explore how light, material, and form interact within the landscape and to capture their own interpretation through photography or visual work.
The residency offers free accommodation, workspace and basic technical support, and the opportunity to present the resulting work during the next Open Artist House. Selected works can become part of an upcoming international book publication about The Artist House and its architectural context.
Included: Accommodation for up to 7 days (travel and daily expenses not included).

Το The Artist House προσκαλεί φωτογράφους και εικαστικούς καλλιτέχνες για μια σύντομη καλλιτεχνική φιλοξενία (2–7 ημέρες) μεταξύ Οκτωβρίου και Δεκεμβρίου 2025, στο νησί της Τήνου.
Η φιλοξενία επικεντρώνεται στην Κυκλαδική αρχιτεκτονική — τη δομή και την ατμόσφαιρα του ίδιου του The Artist House, καθώς και στα παραδοσιακά Κυκλαδικά χωριά Τριαντάρος και Βερδενιάρος.
Πρόκειται για μια μικρή, αυτο-οργανωμένη φιλοξενία, που λειτουργεί μέσα στον ρυθμό της τοπικής ζωής του νησιού. Οι συμμετέχοντες καλούνται να εξερευνήσουν πώς το φως, το υλικό και η μορφή αλληλεπιδρούν μέσα στο τοπίο και να αποτυπώσουν τη δική τους οπτική μέσα από φωτογραφία ή εικαστική δουλειά.
Η φιλοξενία προσφέρει δωρεάν διαμονή, χώρο εργασίας και βασική τεχνική υποστήριξη, καθώς και τη δυνατότητα παρουσίασης του έργου κατά την επόμενη Open Artist House. Επιλεγμένες δουλειές μπορεί να συμπεριληφθούν σε μια διεθνή έντυπη έκδοση για το The Artist House και το αρχιτεκτονικό του πλαίσιο.

One Night of Art, Music & Island Stories
Once or twice a year, we open the doors of the Artist House in Triantaros for one special evening—bringing together art, music, and stories from the island in a space shaped by creativity and community. The Open Artist House is more than an event—it’s a reflection of life in the Cycladic village: shared, simple, and full of exchange. Wander through the current exhibition, enjoy live music on our open stage, and experience the unique blend of living, working, and creating that defines our space. This evening is also a chance to peek into the holiday rental and artist residency behind the scenes—and connect with the people and ideas shaping it.

Parking is available at the village entrances (Α, Β, Γ). From there, just follow the red thread through the alleys to reach the Artist House.
The Artist House Spa
As part of our recent winter renovation, we’ve expanded the Artist House to include a thoughtfully designed spa area—a serene retreat that reflects the character of the village and the soul of the house itself. Tucked within the aged stone walls, the spa blends minimalist modern design with the tactile warmth of traditional materials. It’s a place of quiet contrasts—where heat meets cool, and past meets present. At its heart lies a bio sauna, offering gentle humidity infused with the scents of the island—wild thyme, lemon verbena, eucalyptus. Whether after a long summer walk or during a crisp winter night, this space invites you to unwind deeply and slowly.
A traditional foot bath, inspired by timeless island rituals, grounds the spa in local heritage. The experience is complemented by a rain shower, chromotherapy lighting, a Marshall speaker for your favorite sounds, and a relaxation area with a chaiselongue. This new wellness space is more than an amenity—it’s an extension of the Artist House philosophy: sensitive to place, rooted in history, and shaped by contemporary comfort.

We learn from our ancestors, who built sophisticated and efficient houses in a time when the island still lacked electricity and modern amenities.The Cycladic villages were built as a community. Nestled together, they are protecting each other from the strong winds and summer heat.

Tourism, for us, is a cultural exchange with the aim of conveying culture and providing our guests with the opportunity to connect with the place they are visiting in various ways. We are not Disneyland, nor a photographic backdrop, but a vibrant place of culture.
