Skepano Hill
Stone houses over the Aegean Sea
Located on a hill just above the town of Tinos overlooking the island, its southern coast and the whole Cyclades in a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view.
Five independent stone houses are to be built here, forming a low-profile ensemble, sensitively inserted into this unique environment. The buildings outside the village, boundaries cottages and stables are made of boulders and raw stone found on site.
Following this unspoken aesthetic rule the outside walls will be constructed from natural stone found on the hill and furthermore adapting the simple forms of rural buildings, Joined cubes form the houses basic modules- blending them into the landscape, which is dominated by stone terraces, the remains of old stables and interspersed with wind ridden rocks.
A single private road connects each of the five houses to five thousand sqm. plots with the main road leading from Tinos´ main town to the islands south-eastern villages.
In accordance with local regulations each of those four plots offers space for up to two hundred sqm. of single floor housing arranged around a large living space and kitchen area with a panoramic view of the Aegean sea. And will be surrounded by extensive sun- and wind-shielded exterior spaces.
